Case Study: Funding

CASE STUDY: PLEASLEY PIT REGENERATION
Client: East Midlands Development Agency

Rubicon Regeneration is working with a team of architects and leisure consultants on implementing plans to regenerate Pleasley Colliery. The vision is to regenerate Pleasley Colliery as an economic, social and environmental asset for the local community, where the Pit buildings, specifically the Schedule Ancient Monument, are restored, preserved and enhanced to encourage access and interpretation of this unique historic and valued site.

Pleasley Colliery will be an important leisure and amenity resource for visitors and the local community, providing a gateway to the adjacent Country Park and contributing to the regeneration of Pleasley village and the surrounding area.

Rubicon Regeneration was involved in identifying and reviewing funding opportunities and was instrumental in securing a significant injection of European Funding to support core infrastructure works. We continue to be involved with the project, working with partners to secure Heritage Lottery Funding to restore and preserve the colliery complex and provide basic heritage interpretation facilities of the site.
